Welcome to the website of Cavendish High School.
The School was the first purpose built school in Cheshire for children with severe learning difficulties aged 2 - 19 years, officially opening in 1976.
Over the years the School has seen many changes none more so than in 2006, when it was re-designated to cater for young people, aged 11-19 years, with Severe, Profound and Complex Learning Difficulties, including those with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. However the ethos has never changed, and is reflected in our vision statement:
"Cavendish High School respects the dignity and worth of each individual pupil. Through a caring and sensitive environment we ensure the highest quality educational provision, which will support the learning and development of every young person. Our pupils are entitled to equality of opportunity so that they are able to participate in society as valued and contributing members."
Every Child (truly) Matters at Cavendish High School, and has done so since 1976.
The Cavendish message is about potential and achievement through opportunity and partnership.
This website will give you an insight into the world of Cavendish High School and will take you on a journey of how we live out our core principles.
